The idea of the turning oven stone is to facilitate and promote even cooking of your pizza, bread and dishes. Since the fire is at the back it is otherwise hard to see how your food is cooking or if it is burning.
Having the fire coming through the fire diffuser from the back, and the floor stone turning, your food will cook beautifully even.

Tip: to heat up the cooking floor evenly:
  • turn on the button under the motor underneath your oven once you have lit the fire.
  • keep the door closed to keep the heat in as you can see the progress of the cooking through the viewing glass in the door.

About the Stone:
Our oven stones ar made of corderiete. Corderiete stones are durable and can withstand high temperatures, ideal for the Italian style pizza. However, they are very sensible to thermal shocks caused by liquids.

What causes a stone to crack:

If, in a rare case, you happen to have received a faulty stone with your oven, it would crack during or directly after the first cooking.
Warning:
  • Spilling of liquid such as tomato and/or mozzarella from pizza releases liquidon the stone. The stone absorbs the liquid which will cause a thermal shock. Causing the stone to crack. This happens for example if the pizza breaks/opens (hole) when placing it in the oven.
  • Do not cook any food other than pizza or bread directly on the stone, example corn, eggplant, capsicum, etc. as they release liquid during cooking. The stone absorbs the liquid which will cause a thermal shock. Causing the stone to crack.
So place them in a dish instead.
  • Do not use a damp cloth or such to clean the stone when hot, for the same reason as above.

About the Motor:
The motor is a heavy duty rotisserie motor, able to support up to
18kg. However wrong use or handling can cause permanent damage to your motor.

What causes the oven motor to stop working:
If, in a rare case, you happen to have received a faulty rotating motor with your oven, it would not work at the first use.
Warning:
  • Make sure to use pots or dishes that allow for the rotating stone to turn freely!
Also that pot handles do not stick out.
  • If the stone is blocked by the pot while the motor is on, the motor gear will get damaged or burn out.
  • Before taking a dish out, or placing a dish in the oven, you must switch off the motor.
  • Same when you take your dish or pizza or bread out the oven: make sure you switch off the motor first!
  • Do not turn the stone by hand and do not try to stop the stone by hand when the motor is on, as this will damage the motor gear.

The motor of the rotating stone uses 2 DD batteries. You can use rechargeable ones. They are
not included unfortunately due to customs rules in most countries.
